Chrislyn Cool, PPC, MS, serves as the Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Well-Being, where she supports the holistic health and success of student-athletes both on and off the field. Chrislyn received her Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Oklahoma. Then, Chrislyn made her way to Wyoming to earn a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wyoming. Since coming to Wyoming, she has fallen in love with the people, cowboy culture, and the school, happy to now call Wyoming home. Chrislyn has always felt a strong connection to athletics and the ways sports shape resilience, teamwork, and personal growth.
Her passion for mental health in athletics comes from seeing firsthand how the challenges of performance, academics, and life can weigh on student-athletes. She has experience working with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, stress management, adjustment, disordered eating, ADHD, and has a special interest in supporting athletes navigating identity, transition, and motivation struggles.
Chrislyn’s approach to therapy is rooted in person-centered care—she believes in creating a safe, supportive space where student-athletes feel heard, valued, and empowered to discover their own strengths. She is especially drawn to integrating expressive and creative approaches to help athletes find balance and confidence in all areas of their lives.
Outside of her work, Chrislyn enjoys spending time with her partner, their two cats, and their new puppy. You can often find them exploring the local walking trails, rooting on our athletes at games, or relaxing at home with a good book or movie.
