Oscar Martinez is in his first year as a graduate assistant sports performance coach with the University of Wyoming Olympic Sports Performance department. He directly oversees the strength and conditioning programming for rodeo and cheer, while also assisting with women’s basketball and diving.

Martinez began his career with the Cowboys in August 2022 as an intern in the Olympic Sports Performance department. He earned a paid internship with the program in August 2024 before being promoted to graduate assistant in June 2025.

A native of Gillette, Wyoming, Martinez earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion from the University of Wyoming. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and holds his Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) credential through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
